RAPAPORT... The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) Middle East recently conducted gem identification and colored stone grading lab classes in Bahrain. The institute already offers a full schedule of lab classes in Dubai and will will be adding more classes in Bahrain, as well as expanding its course offerings in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
Sixteen students completed the gem identification class and 15 completed colored stone grading in February 2010, with each receiving an official letter of completion.
“Due to the overwhelmingly positive response from students and requests for additional instruction, we’re adding more classes to the schedule in Bahrain,” said Judy Anand, the manager of GIA's Dubai lab services. “We appreciate the opportunity to serve the region by providing the highest-quality gemological training and skill development.”
